Focus: virtual trauma practice, EMDR, and my unconditional belief that people should be free to be themselves without judgment.
If you are tired of a system where medical providers and therapists constantly tell you what to do, how to live, or make you feel “weird” for not fitting into a conventional box, I welcome you to a completely different therapeutic space. With twenty years of professional clinical experience specializing in complex trauma, EMDR, and recovery, I run a fully virtual, telehealth practice designed to meet you exactly where you are. I firmly believe that you naturally possess the right to live your life in a fashion that brings you true peace and happiness — entirely free from judgment, criticism, or the pressure to forcefully “belong” to a specific culture or group standard.
My humanistic approach rejects broad labels, focusing instead on the absolute uniqueness of who you are as an individual. In my practice, you are in complete control of your journey. I do not view you through the clinical lens of a textbook; I view you as a person with an inherent capacity to lead your own healing — even during the times when you feel so overwhelmed by crisis that you aren’t entirely sure what will work for you yet.
I am not here to mold you into anyone else or force you to comply with a flawed system. My role is to stand right beside you as a professional partner — to walk with you, guide you, and assist you all the way to the end of your goals. My commitment to you doesn’t vanish at the clinic door; I routinely check in on my former clients years after discharge because I genuinely care about your long-term dignity and success.
You deserve to believe in yourself and achieve what you are reaching for. No matter how heavy the trauma or how severe the crisis, I am here to provide an unwavering, authentic online sanctuary that never gives up on you — even when you’ve stopped believing in yourself.

I am the resilient force behind ICHANGE — Initiating Communities Helping Area Neighborhoods Gain Empowerment — a community-based nonprofit born from lived experience, professional excellence, and an unwavering dedication to equity. As a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with over a decade serving on the frontlines of mental health and trauma recovery, I am committed to helping individuals move from crisis to capacity, no matter their background or ability to pay.
My path wasn’t traditional — it was deeply personal. I founded ICHANGE in 2011 after successfully fighting a broken system that had misdiagnosed and over-medicated my own son. After implementing my own targeted intervention techniques, he came home, reversed his path from a struggling student to graduating with honors, earned a two-year scholarship to Michigan State University, appeared on the front page of the Lansing State Journal three times, and became an instrumental part of the United States Army. Today, he is happily married with four children. Witnessing his triumph, alongside the systemic cracks my DHS casework clients were falling through in 2010, gave me my ultimate motivation. I went back to get my degree to ensure that everyone — especially our youth — has access to quality services.
I didn’t build this bridge alone. I was guided, tutored, and poured into by five incredibly wise professionals who helped me navigate what I didn’t know how to do, transforming a vision into a structured reality. Under our collaborative leadership, ICHANGE has supported thousands of disadvantaged Michiganders, trained hundreds of clinical interns, and established wrap-around partnerships spanning school districts, circuit and district courts, judges, independent law firms, and vital community infrastructure like public transportation, city parks, and state leaders. We even pioneered a social-emotional trauma curriculum supported by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network in Lansing elementary schools like Reo and Pleasant View, and launched massive back-to-school community events drawing over 600 attendees.
When funding dried up during the pandemic, I didn’t give up — I hustled, launched new initiatives, and secured vital partnerships, recently landing a grant alongside Lansing Black Social Workers and CATA. My approach is rooted in integrity, humility, and transformative justice. Even when faced with public scrutiny and hardship, I have stood firm and accepted consequences without bitterness, knowing my impact is measured by my continued service. ICHANGE reflects exactly who I am: a voice for the unheard, a believer in second chances, and a leader who remains grounded in the truth that real change starts by accepting people as radical, unique individuals — never as part of a stereotype, label, or group.
